Teresa Bachman, PT, DPT, DHSc

Bio:

Teresa Bachman serves as a Clinical Associate Professor, the Assistant Program Director, and Graduate Program Director for the Department of Physical Therapy.  Dr. Bachman earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas State University.  She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana and her Doctor of Health Science degree at the University of Indianapolis.

Dr. Bachman became a Board-Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy in 2019, is a Certified Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult (2011), and a Tom Waugh Fellow of the Texas Physical Therapy Association (2016).  She has been teaching undergraduate Pre-Physical Therapy and entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy students since 2009.  Dr. Bachman continues to practice physical therapy as a home health care clinician specializing in evaluation and treatment of the aging adult.  She resides in New Braunfels, Texas, with her husband and two wonderful boys and spends her spare time traveling, cycling (road and mountain), hiking with her family and friends, and reading.

Dr. Bachman started with Baylor University in January 2018 with the inception of the hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and since then has consistently demonstrated an abiding passion for supporting our students’ growth, a visionary mindset that allows her to enact this passion in a way that lays a path for all of us to follow, a practice of innovative thinking that challenges her colleagues but also brings us together, and a commitment to continued individual development in the service of our students and our profession.
