Other Resources
Graduate Student Health Insurance
Baylor University requires all degree-seeking students enrolled in the Graduate School and Garland School of Social Work (including online students) to maintain health insurance. Students must either enroll in Baylor’s Student Health Insurance Plan or waive Baylor’s insurance by providing proof of alternative coverage. Students who take no action will be automatically enrolled in Baylor’s plan.
UWill (Free Telehealth Counseling)
UWill is a telehealth company that provides mental health services for Baylor students. UWill also has many online wellness resources available. Students can go to Uwill's website and register for an account. Once logged in, you will see a link on the upper left hand side labeled "Wellness Programs". This contains all of Uwill's great wellness resources.
McLane Student Life Center
The McLane Student Life Center is a 156,000 sq. ft. multi-recreational facility that boasts the tallest free-standing climbing structure in Texas, an aquatics center, 3-tiered fitness facility, and four courts equipped to support basketball or volleyball. Check out some of the many other areas designed and equipped to provide students, faculty, staff and their guests with a superb recreational experience.
NOTE: Doctoral students must be registered for the summer term in order to maintain free access over the summer. You can register for an FTE (Full Time Equivalent) course in order to maintain "active student" status in the system.
Childbirth & Adoption Accommodation
In recognition of the challenges of balancing the demands of graduate study and parenting a new child, this policy aims to improve the environment for Graduate Assistant (GAs) student-parents by addressing the conflicts and issues that may arise as the two goals of advanced education and parenthood intersect.
Short-Term Leave Accommodation
Graduate students suffering from a serious medical condition may apply for short-term medical leave from their academic and assistantship responsibilities. Either the graduate students or their graduate program directors (on behalf of their graduate student) may apply for this emergency leave.
