Pursuing a PhD in English

My decision to pursue a PhD was significantly influenced by the model of Christian scholarship and teaching I witnessed in my professors at East Texas Baptist University. At ETBU, I learned the virtue of intellectual humility and the value of community in pursuing truth. I was also encouraged to think intentionally about my chosen field as a vocation and about the transformative power of literature to teach us about life, relationships, and being human. As I continue in my PhD at Baylor, I am thankful for the opportunity to do my research and teaching within Christian higher education and for the ongoing support of my professors and colleagues.
