Denise M. Evans, MBA
- Assistant Dean for Extended Learning Initiatives
Denise joined Baylor University in 2023 as Assistant Vice Provost for Extended Learning Initiatives and transitioned to the Graduate School in Fall 2025 as Assistant Dean for Extended Learning Initiatives. In this role, she leads Baylor Extended Learning, expanding and strategically shaping the university’s non-credit portfolio to meet evolving workforce demands. Denise oversees the development of professional certifications, workforce development programs, and customized executive and organizational training solutions. She also directs non-credit enrollment strategy and marketing initiatives, ensuring that programs elevate the Baylor mission and are accessible, market-responsive, and aligned with industry needs. Her work bridges academic excellence with real-world application, strengthening Baylor’s engagement with employers, professionals, and adult learners.
Her leadership reflects a blend of higher education and corporate experience. Prior to Baylor, Denise served as Director of Continuing Education and Language Programs at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; Assistant Vice President for Adult Undergraduate and Continuing Education at Maryville University St. Louis; Co-Executive Director of Lone Star College–Online; and Director of Campus Services at San Jacinto College. Earlier in her career, she held management roles with GE Financial, TCI of Pennsylvania, Tenet Healthcare, and Susquehanna Health, where she developed expertise in operations, growth strategy, marketing, and customer engagement.
Denise holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a BA in Journalism and Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University.
