In this February 2026 GPS workshop, Dr. DeAnna Toten Beard, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at Baylor University, discussed tenure track processes, workload expectations, and promotion criteria, including the three-tier system of academic ranks and the importance of clear job postings and contract terms. Dr. Toten Beard also addressed the academic job cycle, interview processes, and the significance of maintaining research productivity and career mobility for PhD graduates entering the academic workforce.
