Additional Graduate Student Housing in 2024-25

September 22, 2023

WACO, Texas — The Baylor Graduate School is thrilled to announce the addition of two graduate student housing options to enhance the residential experience for our graduate students. These new accommodations—near Baylor's campus and exclusive to graduate students—will provide a comfortable and supportive environment for academic success and personal growth.

"We recognized the paramount importance of increasing the availability of graduate student housing in Waco," said Sara Dolan, PhD, Associate Dean for Professional Development in the Graduate School. "Accessible and conducive housing can not only alleviate some of the financial stressors associated with the academic journey but it also fosters a vibrant and supportive community where students can thrive. We are committed to providing an environment that empowers our graduate students to excel academically and personally, and expanding housing options is a significant step toward achieving that goal."

With the addition of Speight-Jenkins and Pinetree apartment complexes, the Baylor Graduate School adds 66 apartments beginning with the 2024-25 academic year. Each fully-furnished apartment includes one bedroom, one bathroom, a full kitchen, a living room, and laundry facilities on site.

"GSA's active involvement in focus groups and discussions with Baylor administrators helped champion additional graduate student housing" shared Anna Beaudry, PhD Candidate in English and President of Baylor's Graduate Student Association. "We turned student concerns into action, advocating for more and better accommodations to enhance the graduate student experience."

Both Speight-Jenkins and Pinetree will open for applications on November 1, 2023. The Baylor Graduate School welcomes its graduate students to explore these exciting new housing opportunities for the upcoming academic year.
