Graduate Writing Center
The Graduate Writing Center is a resource for all Baylor graduate student writers (online and on-campus) who desire to improve their writing skills. Consultants help with writing projects at all stages of the composition process - generating ideas, organizing, and revising - whether students are working on academic papers, reports, personal statements and applications, papers intended for publication, theses and dissertations, or grant proposals.
*January 2025 UPDATE:
The Graduate Writing Center and the University Writing Center are preparing to merge in Fall 2025. The GWC will maintain its current consultation approaches including pre-reading and meeting. However, the GWC will begin using a new scheduling software, "MyWCOnline," starting on January 21, 2025. Instructions for scheduling an appointment on the new system can be found on our appointment page. If you have questions regarding this change, please reach out to gwc@baylor.edu.
Staff
The Center is staffed by senior doctoral candidates who have extensive experience editing, teaching, publishing their own work, and working with peers.
Hours and Location
The GWC maintains operation between the first day of class and the last day of finals for each spring, summer, and fall term based on the on-campus academic calendar. The Graduate Writing Consultants work with each client to set up individualized appointment times that work with their schedules. They meet with students online, in the Graduate Research Center in the Poage Library, or at other convenient locations on campus.
